หลายๆคนคงเห็นผมบาดเจ็บใส่สลิงแขนเป็นเดือนแล้ว จึงคำถามที่ผมต้องภพบ่อยมากคือเป็นอะไร เกิดอะไรขื้นแถม ยังไม่หายหรอ? ถึงผมก็ตอบกี่ครั้ง คนเดิมๆและคนใหม่ก็มาถามซ้ำอีก คำตอบคือผมมีอุบัติเหตุมอเตอร์ไชค์ ชนกับต้นไม้คืนหนึ่งเดือนมกราคม 2552 แล้วพูดง่ายๆ ผมก็โชคดีที่ไม่ได้ตาย แขนหรือกระดุกใดไม่มีหัก แม้แต่เหลือดก็ไม่ออกตอนทีประสบ (ดีที่ผมสวมใส่มวกกันนอกเป็นประจำ)แต่ที่ผมมีโชคไม่ดีคือเส้นประสาทที่ควบคุมแขนด้านซ้าย มันขาดจากรากเส้นที่กระดูกสันหลัง ทำให้แขนและมือหมดความรู้สึกหลายส่วน แล้วแม้แต่ยกแขนก็ไม่ได้ (ภาษาอังกฤษเรียกว่า Brachial Plexus injury–nerve root avulsion) มีแต่เจ็บ เนื่องจากหมอพิจารณาแสกนแบบ MRI และคิดว่าเส้นขาดที่รากอาจถึงหลายเส้น มีสิทธิสูงที่ความใช้ของแขนไม่ฟื้นกลับมาเป็นเหมือนเดิม อาจมีการฟื้นบ้างแต่ยังไงเป็นเวลาหลายปีกว่าจะรู้เต็มๆว่าฟื้นแต่ไหน การผ่าตัดอาจเป็นทางเลือก หรืออาจไม่ช่วยเรา ต้องรอตรวจดูผลของ EMG ตรวจพลังประสาทด้วยกระตุ้นไฟฟ้าและฝังเขม ซึ่งผมนัดหมอต้นเดือนหน้า การตรวจแบบ EMG จะแสดงความรุนแรงของบาดเจ็บอย่างละเอียด จึงหมอจะสามารถบอกชัดเจน ว่าการผ่าตัดเป็นทางเลือกที่จะช่วยเราได้หรือไม่ เด๋วผมจะแจ้งอัปเดดบลอ็งเรื่อยๆ สยาเมริกัน
ปกติผมจะเขียนบลอ็กเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ เนื่องจากบลอ็กนี่มีชื่อ สยาเมริกันโดยเขียนที่เมืองไทยซึงผู้อ่านส่วนใหญ่อยู่ที่ เมืองไทย และนักเขียนผมเอ็งก็เป็นคนมีเชื้อชาติไทยถึ่งครึ่งส่วน จึงน่าจะมีเขียนบันทึกในบล็อกเป็นภาษาไทยบ้าง ฉะนั้นผมยินดีที่จะประกาศว่า นี่คือบันทึกแรกเป็นภาษาไทยในบลอ็กสยาเมริกัน แต่รับรองว่าจะไม่ไช่อันสุดท้าย เพื่อนๆพี่น้องๆที่ไม่ค่อยรู้เรื่องภาษาอังกฤษ จะได้ติดตามสยาเมริกันอย่างเสมอ หากมีความคิดเห็น หรือคำถามเมื่อใด อย่าเกรง อย่ากลัวที่จะแสดงในช่อง คอเมนท์ด้านล่าง ขอรับผม
