It’s like one of those enlightening sunny mornings product of a peculiar waning moon; ironically enriched with reflective insight–nostalgic penance of construction curtains the clouds passing with time…
-Jao Moragoat (2008-2009)
The following post is a further elaboration-continuation of the previous New Year’s greeting post. The motivation for this post was sparked in email communications with his sister, when the SW was explaining the order of the Chinese Zodiac animals.
For the SW, the later half of 2008 would be inherited with a cautious heart, as tradition and induction shade the coming 25th year (the only year which the Siamerican Wanderer’s age would equal his birthday) to either be auspicious or the extreme opposite, depending on the alignment of stars, and perhaps more important, the beholder’s insight and attitude… Exactly one 12 year cycle before, the 1996 year of the rat was perhaps his most difficult when his mother passed away. And so this cycle’s gift of life and relevant prosperity wouldn’t be taken for granted; a goal to live to see the light of year 26 and beyond with a free, nourished and directed mind was/is in mind.
And so, the ending of 2008 saw yet no direct hardships in the final months of the year of the rat. However, according to the Chinese and Thai (partially based on the Chinese)animal zodiac, the year of the Ox won’t officially start until Chinese New years which for 2009 will fall on the new moon of January 26, or for Thai new years, April 13, and so it is yet premature to conclude that the waning of the rat, and sprout of the ox brings no personal woe. In the Chinese Zodiac, 2009 is to be the year of the ‘brown ox’ inferring that hardship will be apparent which so far is already proves true for many around the world–then again, someone somewhere will always be experiencing hardship and inequality as well as their opposite forces of prosperity and equality. However, such obvious generalizations should never be taken for granted, and perhaps the universe’s invisible hands may have something in store for us.
So what possibly would/should others need to consider for this year and beyond?
With the Moon Smiling under the eyes of Jupiter and Venus on December 1, 2008–at the wake of turmoil and unrest in South Asia terror and bombings-conscious minds ought to at the least be susceptible to possible implications of astrological whispers. While it’s easy to write tragedy off as coincidence, rarely are unfortunate victims expecting or prepared for wind of woe.
As far as Chinese lunar-solar gurus are concerned, a relevant highlight to consider is that the year of the rat is considered the first year of the 12 year cycle, followed by the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Perhaps irrelevant, but interesting nevertheless is in regards to one of the popular tales of how the animal order was established, referring to an animal race across a river in which the Ox was due to win, though the rat had secretly hitched a ride on its back and jumped off at the last moment to secure the win.
For those who want to pursue further insight and knowledge regarding the Chinese animal zodiac, this is a good starting point, or for more information on the Chinese solar-lunar based calendar, otherwise there is a myriad of other intrepetations of the universal forces available out there–feel free to suggest in the comments box if you do so care to.
As a final note, it is undeniable that everyone’s path and existence has a unique relationship to the order of the universe, and that while there are many texts and resources for interpretations as a secondary source for forecast, it is most important for one to realize and embrace the expectations and meaning within their heart, mind, soul, and body–based on their own earned inductions and deductions as the primary source towards meaning and forecast, that is if one truly finds a need to anticipate threats and opportunities in their unique path of life.
As for the Siamerican Wanderer’s immediate path, January 2009 brings another full time semester of Communication Arts undergraduate studies at Bangkok University International College in the Thai capital, leaving 19 classes to be completed in a planned three semesters, shooting for a closure to classroom academics by 2010. On the professional end, it’s calculating LLC tax deductions for stateside company, expanding his financial knowledge base just a bit more.
…stay tuned
